Winning Olympic gold and setting world records definitely has its perks. One of those perks for Gabby Douglas is having the President of Spelman College personally fly to London to recruit you!
President Beverly Daniel Tatum has made it no secret that Douglas has become their number one recruit. Tatum arrived in London with a gift bag for the young gymnast including a congratulatory note, a cd produced by the schools music department, and a school T-shirt.
Tatum told TMZ:
"A young woman who has demonstrated the drive and discipline needed to achieve world-class excellence is likely to have what it takes to be successful at Spelman, and we would welcome her interest in the college."
The 16-year old doesn't have to worry about college for another couple of years, but Spelman is definitely getting a leg up on the competition!!!
