Giving Back!!! DJ Que Eleven Speaks to Students Of North Lawndale Prep!!!

Yesterday DJ Que Eleven spoke with the students of North Lawndale College Prep’s C-Cap program. The program introduces high school students to various art mediums, with the focus on yesterday’s class being on Hip Hop. The students listened as guest speakers Young General and DJ Que Eleven told stories of how they got introduced to Hip Hop, what struggles they had to go through and how they are currently contributing to Hip Hop. The main message that was given to the children was education. Whether each child wanted to be an active participant of the Hip Hop culture was not stressed, the focus was on education and studying your craft no matter what it is.

Bears vs. Rams Sunday!

It’s been a while since we seen the Bears play and....well...we don’t need to be reminded what happened last time we did see them play. :-( But none the less…we must carry on!! The Bears are back and is looking to take on the St. Louis Rams this Sunday at 12pm. Forte is still out with a sprain ankle leaving the Bears to relieve on Michael Bush. Urlacher and Peppers didn’t practice yesterday but are scheduled to play Sunday. #GOBEARS

Roscoe Dash Wants His Credit!!!

ATL Rapper/ Songwriter Roscoe Dash has took to his twitter yesterday with his frustrations of not being given credit on songs such as Wale’s “Louts Flower Bomb” and now the G.O.O.D. Music ‘s “Cruel Summer” album track “To The World” after seeing a Kanye West interview on WorldstarHipHop.com . Dash told his followers if you listen close you could still hear his ab-libs on the song for “Cruel Summer” “To the World”. Dash claims he wrote both of the hooks to the #1 song and didn’t receive any credit. His tweets had many artists in the industry talking from Wale, Miguel, and even Meek Mill. Mill tweeted out to Dash “Yo @Roscoedash u must not b getting no money b! lol” Later Dash tweeted a response to the rapper showing a screenshot of the Philly rapper apologizing for calling him a “Bitch” in a DM back in June. A 20-minute sex tape featuring rapper Kanye West is being shopped around to various media outlets according to RadarOnline.com. A rep for the site has viewed the tape in entirety and has confirmed that it is indeed West. The tape is said to be shot in a hotel room with an 18 year old who bares a striking resemblance to Kanye’s current girlfriend Kim Kardashian. In the beginning of the video, the young woman says her age and that she is there to be with West because she was not intimate with her husband. West is apparently in tears over the video which has reportedly already been offered $1 million.

Chella H~Putting Chicago On The MAP!!! 5 out of 5 Stars!!!

Chella H. is no stranger to the rap game, yet she has the buzz of a beginner with her latest project The Morning After Pill dropping September 25th. Following successes with singles "Poke it Out" and the Shawnna assisted "Big & Fat", this RBA (which stands for Real Bitch Authentic) prepped for her release yesterday at Complex 2010. The listening event was a who's who in the Chicago music scene and the first lady of Chicago should be proud because the masses definitely showed up to support her. Chella H. is a natural hustler and this shows in her rhymes. She spits with the bravado of a man and the finesse of a woman, but somehow finds a way to do it in a seemingless way! Overall The Morning After Pill is more than a solid release for Chella H., it will be a stepping stone for the first lady. Let's all wish her a Happy Birthday and a well deserved congrats as she put her all into this project!!!

Bears, Cubs, and Soxs

After a heartbreaking lost to the Packers last Thursday the Bears have to pick themselves up especially losing a great offensive player like Matt Forte. It was reported that Forte left the game due to a high sprain ankle. Since then Head Coach Lovie Smith has spoken out on the situation saying that Forte didn’t have a high sprain ankle, but did say that he was sore, which is the reason why Bears brought back Hahlil Bell. The Bears will host the St. Louis Ram on Sunday and is ready to get back on the field to redeem themselves from this bad game. The Soxs played well over the weekend with a sweep over the Minnesota Twins in a 3 game series. Yesterday was a great game form Jake Peavy going with 6 innings allowing two runs on four hits. The Sox pitchers held the Twins to just five runs and 12 hits in the three games. Sox win over Twins 9-2, their still in 1st place 2 games ahead of the Detroit Tigers. Last but not least….THE CUBS WON A GAME!!!! :O yes you read right. The Cubs haven’t been having a great season but yesterday was a pretty decent game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Anthony Rizzo had hit the Cubs first six RBI game since Aramis Ramirez in 2010, including hitting a grand slam in the sixth inning. Cubs over Pirates in a comeback victory 13-9.

Wyclef Jean Throws Shade At Lauryn Hill!!!

Last week son of Bob Marley, Rohan Marley opened up about his relationship with former Fugee front woman Lauryn Hill. It was the first time that either had opened up about their sudden breakup. In an interview with UK publication, The Voice Marley said

“As a man, there are certain things I don't accept, and it just so happened that I didn't accept certain things. It doesn't mean she's a bad person, or I'm a bad person, it just didn't work out”.

He also went on to say that he wanted to marry Hill, but she wasn’t ready. Now it seems as if her former band mate is throwing shade as well. In an excerpt from his autobiography Purpose, Wyclef Jean told a story a paternity nightmare when Hill got pregnant with son Zion and led him to believe the child was his when in actuality it was Marley’s. Jean, who admitted he was married at the time, said after that, the band began to unravel. Jean wrote,

"In that moment something died between us. I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn’t forgive that. She could no longer be my muse... Our love spell was broken.”

Whats Beef!?!?! American Idol Judges Already At Each Other's Throat!!!

Fox recently announced the new lineup of judges for this season of American Idol, including the lowly judge remaining from the beginning, Randy Jackson, country superstar Keith Urban, well known diva Mariah Carey and rap femme Nicki Minaj. There were reports that Carey was pissed that Fox reached out to Minaj and actually hung up the phone on execs when she was told Minaj was a judge and rumors of a beef surfaced. Producers laid that rumor to bed saying there was no tension between the two high strung divas. Now comes word that Nicki and Mariah definitely have a strenuous relationship and it all went down yesterday at the first taping of American Idol. According to TMZ,

"When Nicki started critiquing a contestant, Mariah would interrupt -- not once, but many times. Each time Mariah interrupted, Nicki fought back by loudly talking over Mariah. One "A.I." spy said Mariah and Nicki tried to cover their disdain for each other but everyone saw through it, adding, these girls just don't like each other.”

Chad Johnson Pleads Not Guilty in Head Butting Fiasco!!!

Following an arrest for allegedly head butting then-wife Evelyn Lozada on August 11th, Chad Johnson has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery. The plea was entered by Johnson’s lawyer in Broward County in FL and Johnson was not present at the time. He faces up to a year in jail in convicted.

President Obama Experiences Surge In Polls Following DNC!!!

Following a successful Democratic National Convention, President Obama is experiencing a surge in the political polls! With an average of five points, the President is starting to take a commanding lead against Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Romney officials are now worried because he has not seen that rise in polls they thought he would have following the Republican National Convention. While he saw a three to four point gain following the convention to put him at a dead heat with President Obama, analysts were worried because it was not a surge they usually see following such an event. While both candidates were in a dead heat going into the DNC, powerful speeches by Mrs. Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and President Obama has seemingly rallied the troops and this is being showed in Gallup and Rasmussen polls released this week. The President also saw his job approval rating rise (50% in the Gallup and 52% in the Rasmussen poll).

Bears Win Season Opener!!!

Those Bears sure do know how to put on a show for the 1st game of the regular season huh? They had us scared and excited at the same damn time! The Chicago Bears played at Soldier Field yesterday against the Indianapolis Colts. The 1st quarter had some of the Bear fans scared for a minute. Bad Offense and quarterback Jay Cutler throwing an interception which led to the Colts striking 1st on the score broad. The Bears stuck back later that quarter and took over the game giving an overall great performance with the score 41-21 Bears. The next game is on Thursday against rivals Green Bay which leaves the question can the Bears overcome the Pack? Well with a great win to boost their confidence along with the Pack losing their 1st game yesterday, the favor is in the corner of #DABEARS

Ocho Says NO to Divorce!!!!

After tattooing his estranged wife’s face on his leg, Chad Johnson is refusing to sign the divorce papers. Evelyn Lozada filed for divorce from the disgraced football star after he allegedly head butted her after she found a receipt for condoms in her car. The two had only been married for six weeks when the altercation took place resulting in Lozada filing for divorce three days later. In what some are calling a poor attempt to when Lozada back, Johnson tattooed a picture of the Basketball Wives star on his leg last week and now we hear that he is refusing to sign the divorce papers. Sources close to Johnson are saying that he does not want to partake in divorce proceedings and will not sign the papers because he does not want to get a divorce. Unfortunately for Johnson, Lozada filed the papers in Florida and under their law a divorce can be finalized without his signature as long as a judge approves it.

Gucci Mane Pays Up!!!

Gucci Mane is well known for his legal troubles and the latest one has him coming out his pockets. In January 2011 a woman by the name of Diana Graham was pushed out of the rapper’s moving Hummer truck after she refused to have sex with him. Gucci Mane pled guilty to the charges later that same year. Graham sued for mental anguish, pain, and emotional stress. Graham won a default judgment because Gucci failed to show up in court and submitted false testimony. Gucci Mane is ordered to pay $60,000 and if he doesn’t settle the debt she has a court order to seize assets. That shouldn't be so hard to come up with, he raps about spending $90,000 on a watch, right?

The Chicago Bears will kick off their regular season this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Kickoff is at 12pm on CBS and the season will start here at Soldier Field. The Bears fans are excited about the offense and what’s in store for this season. Brain Urlacher is excited as well, so excited that regardless of his injured knee he’s going to play. A lot of eyes will be on him and his play for the next game is one of the biggest of the season against rivals Green Bay Packers. VMA's 2012!!!

The MTV Video Music Awards took place last night in Los Angles and there’s a lot of behind the scene talks going on more than the actual show. Superstars like Rihanna, Chris Brown, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Lil’ Wanye, and more. Comedian Kevin Heart hosted the show taking friendly jabs the infamous Drake and Chris Brown night-club fight. Rihanna opened the show with help from Rocky ASAP performing “Cockiness” rmx and “We Found Love”. She also took home a Moonman in the category “Video of the Year” for “We Found Love”. Drake took home “Best Hip-Hop Video” for “HYFR” feat. Lil’ Wanye. Chris Brown took home two Moonmen for his vid “Turn up the Music” in the categories of Best Male and Best Choreography. Lil’ Wanye performed with 2 Chainz preforming “Yuck” and Alicia Keys preformed with Nicki Minaj as well. Overall solid show, from what MTV showed us.

Obama Accepts The Nomination for President Of The United States at the 2012 DNC!!!!

The Democratic National Convention wrapped in Charlotte last night with Barack Obama accepting the nomination for presidency from the Democratic Party. Prior to President Obama taking the stage, Vice President Joe Biden rallied the troops and delivered a fiery speech supporting his running mate and friend. Joe Biden’s main focus of his speech was the bailout of General Motors within the first months of Obama’s presidency and the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden. Introduced by his adoring wife, President Obama walked on the stage to a thunderous reception. While he spoke of hope, it was not the focus of his speech like it was at the 2008 DNC when he was just a candidate. The President spoke of this, pointing out last time he was naïve and full of promises but he enters the 2012 DNC as the President of the United States and he knows what to do to get the country back on track. He looked into the camera and stated “I am no longer just the candidate, I’m the President,” perhaps a jab at the disrespectful comments made in many of the speeches at the RNC calling him either by first name or last name. Vowing to use the money set aside for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to boost the American economy, President Obama looked into the eyes of the American people and stated his case for four more years. Well, the king has been dethroned. After topping the Forbes Hip Hop Cash Kings list for the past two years, Jay-Z fell to second, being bested by Dr. Dre! With the bulk of his earnings coming from the uber-successful Beats By Dre, the doc made $110 million dollars last year. Coming in second place was Diddy making $45 million *take that take that* with the majority of his earnings coming from Ciroc Vodka. NY Giants vs. Cowboys recap

Rather you are a fan of or not of these two teams, you have to admit one thing…it was great seeing some football last night! The NFL kicked off its season with a great match up. The Dallas Cowboys took on the New York Giants and it was a game to watch! Cowboys have wanted a shot back at the Giants ever since last season when the Giants sent the Cowboys packing ending their season. The Cowboys did show up on offense tremendously. Tong Romo threw 3 Td passes and307 yards passing. Demarco Murray’s 129 yards rushing, to Ogletree’s two scores. The Cowboys beat the Giants 24-17 leaving a lot of people either upset or entertained. Either way FOOTBALL IS BACK!

Chris Lighty’s Family looks for a second opinion on death

The family for Chris Lighty’s family is seeking for a second opinion on the death of the famous Hip-Hop business man. The original cause of death was declared an apparent suicide after the he and his ex-wife had an argument was found dead in his Bronx apartment. His ex-wife Veronica has spoken out denying these claims stating “My husband was too smart of a man. He was a genius. No smart man is going to leave his children for fighting with his wife. That makes absolutely no sense. We had a passionate relationship. We fought all the time” Lighty, Dave Lighty, doesn’t believe the suicide doesn’t make sense as well. He spoke saying “This isn’t my brother. My brother was a strong person. Nothing is adding up. I can’t get a direct answer from anybody.” Chris was laid to rest yesterday (Sep 5) in New, York. Several stars took place such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, LL Cool J, and Missy Elliot.

Call For Peace!!!! Rapper Lil JoJo Gunned Down Last Night!!!

Chicago has seen its fair share of blood shed this year, even at times making international news. Well last night another victim fell to our violent streets. 16 year old rapper Joseph Coleman aka Lil JoJo was gunned down yesterday on the 6900 block of South Princeton. According to reports, Coleman was riding his bicycle around 9pm last night when a gunman in a tan or gray car opened fire. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead. This story has all too often been told this year. Due to an unseasonably warm winter, there was no decline in the murders that Chicago saw this year. There has to be some type of responsibility and accountability taken by us as a city. Let us rally behind peace and stand against violence ladies and gentlemen. Our reputation depends on it!!!!!

Chad Johnson Gets Evelyn's Face Tatted On His Leg!!!!

Possibly still a little upset over the head butting incident, Chad Johnson is extending a little more than an olive branch to estranged wife, Evelyn Lozada. Johnson tweeted a pic of his latest tattoo, an image of Evelyn’s face on his leg. When his followers started to ask why he did it, Johnson had a couple of humorous responses. Check them out below.

Mrs. Obama at the DNC!!!!

Last night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina Michelle Obama took center stage as she praised her husband’s accomplishments and doing a good job convincing us to give him a second term. President Obama isn’t doing as well with women voters as he once did, so Mrs. Obama’s speech was critical. She touched on things such as how she and Barack’s beliefs and core values parallel those of typical Americans. She did an excellent job of humanizing her husband and told stories of how she fell in love with him in the first place. Mrs. Obama particularly made a reference to herself as just a mom at the end of the day possibly as a way to connect to those undecided women voters. President Obama was not in Charlotte at the time of the speech, but rather watching the speech at home with daughters Sasha and Malia. As she exited the stage in a personal rendition (yes she has her OWN version of the song) of Beyonce’s “Get Me Bodied”, Mrs. Obama thanked the crowd and was definitely swagged out.

Sox lose big, Still hold 1st place

The Chicago White Sox played the Minnesota Twins last night and got crushed losing 18-9. The Sox had to bring up three relievers by the 5th inning, with left-hander Jose Quintana suffering his second consecutive early exit. He allowed 12 runs, on 12 hits in five innings coving his last two starts. The 1st inning started off well, but Quintana allowed seven runs on five hits. Though this may seem discouraging, the Sox are looking forward to closing out this series and playing against the Tigers next week, who are in 2nd place. With all of that the Sox still hold 1st place in the AL Central with the Tigers losing to the Indians 3-2.

Twista makes plans to build a Youth Center in Chicago!

Chicago’s star own Twista is still a big voice for the city and knows about all the violence going on here. With the rise of the killings Twista plans to build a New Youth Center in Chicago to give the youth another alternative than to hang out in the streets. “The gangs, I hate to say it, but they’re taking it back to the whole vibe of getting into it with each other” said Twista “Gangs are going against gangs. We’re trying to do something positive in the city of Chicago, especially now with all of the killings going on and everybody running wild the way they’re doing.” Twista is currently working on plans to finalize the deal and no set date has been made. Great to see one of our own doing something constructive!

Terrance J the New Co-Host for E! News

Congratz to former 106 and Park Co-Host Terrance J for he has landed a new gig to add to his resume. It was announced today that He will be replacing Ryan Seacrest on E! News as the new co-host. His new job will begin on Nov. 12 and his new co-host Giuliana Rancic. Terrance has been recently stepping up his acting game with appearance on BET’s “The Game” and Steve Havey’s “Think Like A Man”.

Micheal Clark Duncan dead at 54

Yesterday (Sep3) we lost another person, this time from the city. Chicago’s own Michael Clark Duncan passed away after nearly two months of treatment following a heart attack in July. The Oscar-nominated actor’s fiance Omarosa spoke out today saying “I am devastated. He was the love of my life.” The two had plans to marry in January. Duncan has acted in many movies such as the “The Green Mile”, “Armageddon ““Sin City” and more. Prayers go out to his family for this lost.
