Yesterday DJ Que Eleven spoke with the students of North Lawndale College Prep’s C-Cap program. The program introduces high school students to various art mediums, with the focus on yesterday’s class being on Hip Hop. The students listened as guest speakers Young General and DJ Que Eleven told stories of how they got introduced to Hip Hop, what struggles they had to go through and how they are currently contributing to Hip Hop.
The main message that was given to the children was education. Whether each child wanted to be an active participant of the Hip Hop culture was not stressed, the focus was on education and studying your craft no matter what it is.
