Cubs sign Castro to a big deal!

The Chicago Cubs made it official with shortstop Starlin Castro, signing a seven year deal with a club option for 2020. The contract includes a guaranteed $60 million over the duration of the deal. He will also receive a $6 million dollar singing bonus which includes $3 million up front and $1 million payments for the next 3 years. If he wins MVP or finishes in the top 5 two years in a row, $2million is added to the last year of his deal and the option. The Cubs where looking to lock down Castro before he becomes a free agent to early and believe that he would a great boost to the organization. “It’s big especially for my family. We come from very poor people and now my family is going to be better. Their lives are changing and that’s really neat.” At the age of 22 and already a two time All-Star he Castro looks to have a bright future ahead. Congrats to the young player!
