Chicago Rapper Rockie Fresh Inks A Deal With MMG

CHI CITY STAND UP!!!! Chicago rapper Rockie Fresh has been grinding on the scene for years and his hard work has finally paid off. Many Chicagoans awoke to the news of the 21 year old rapper signing with Rick Ross’s label, Maybach Music Group (MMG). Fresh, born and raised on the south side and south burbs, has released 4 mixtapes, Rockies Modern Life (2009), The Otherside (2010), The Otherside Redux (2011), and his latest Driving 88 (2012). Rockie Fresh met Ross when his video for “Into The Future” caught the eye of the biggest boss. Ross flew the rapper to Los Angeles for the “Take It To The Head” video shoot. The rapper is quoted as saying
“I didn't even think he was interested in signing me because we were just chilling and I saw him as a big brother because of the conversations that we had. A month later, he said he was interested in putting in an offer. At that time, I was in talks with other labels but, it was just something special about that situation, and that's where my heart led me to go”.
The rapper joins a growing list of Chicago rappers inking major deals including King Louie (Epic Records), Chief Keefe (Interscope), Lil Durk and Lil Reese (both with Def Jam).
