The highly anticipated fifth studio album from MMG CEO Rick Ross was officially released today. After a couple of push backs, Ross delivers a solid release with this 15 track album. Singles like “Touch’N You”, “So Sophisticated” and “Hold Me Back” have ensured that Ross has a formula that works and has no intent on changing it.
Featuring production from the likes of the J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Pharrell, and Cool & Dre, if the album has a feel of a movie, that is definitely intentional. The rapper is quoted as saying
"I wanted to approach [this album] like Scorsese would have approached a film. I wanted it to be a bold statement, a dark statement and have music to tell the story behind it. It felt like a film."
Ross holds nothing back with this album and two of the most popular tracks are 3 Kings, featuring Jay-Z and Dr. Dre, and Sixteen, featuring Andre 3000.
Overall, Ross gives a solid performance and I’m sure his MMG loyals will agree!!!
